Bad science journalism how-to

Linked above is a great break-down of how to write a bad piece of science journalism. Wish I'd written it, that's all I can say!

This article is a quite serious because of implications about human intelligence. It is also applicable beyond science journalism. Many opinion articles in "The Age" about social policy, public administration and politics are heavily tarred with the pseudo-tabloid brush.

Dear PMH, for the acme of spirited story telling you can't go past the Sydney daily and sunday Telegraphs. I am sure they have a team of criminals on the payroll who job it is is to go out and commit crimes, where no crimes would otherwise exist, so that they can lambast the NSW government and police over a percieved lack of action. Their astrologer writers also double up to do science. cheers, Col
